Friends of Down Syndrome is a nonprofit in Houston, TX, dedicated to empowering adults with Down syndrome through lifelong education, vocational training, and social development. Our Down Syndrome Academy offers classes in reading, math, life skills, music, and job training to foster independence and confidence. We provide a supportive, inclusive environment where students build friendships, learn new skills, and engage with the community. Through activities like cooking, crafting, and performances, we celebrate abilities while promoting personal growth. Our mission is to enhance the lives of our students by providing meaningful learning experiences and opportunities for success. We also host events like the Cinderella’s Boots & Bling Ball to engage the community and raise awareness.
