She holds an M.A. in history as well as an M.Ed. She has worked with students from early childhood through college. She specializes in the subjects of math, reading, English/language arts, social studies/humanities, and education.

Now at the helm of a successful curriculum design and writing business, she helps organizations of all sizes to build and maintain their educational offerings. Houston's oldest continuing serving bar b cue, Pizzitola's has been a fixture in the Greater Heights/West End neighborhood since 1935. Shepherd Drive was only a two lane black-top road when we planted our flat at 1703 Shepherd Drive. Originally known as Shepherd Drive Bar B Cue, the name was changed in 1985 when Jerry Pizzitola took over the pits. The only remaining "open brick pits" in Houston were built by Mr. John Davis, the " World's Greatest Barbecue Man", and continue to burn today. They produce a unique flavor that can only come from pits seasoned for over 88 years.
